Our 2022 Preliminary Round Judges

Dr. Tasha Whitehead

Dr. Tashya Whitehead is a pediatrician in Aiea and recently moved from the mainland to be near family. Outside of work, she likes being active outdoors or curled up indoors with a good book. She is very excited to be part of the Healthy Baby Contest 2022 Judging panel!

Jenalyn Ng

Jenalyn graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with Bachelor's degrees in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education and is currently working towards her Master's of Education in Curriculum Studies for Preschool to 3rd grade; her goal is to work on interest based curriculum for Early Childhood Education. Jenalyn currently works at the University of Hawaii at Manoa's Children's Center as a preschool teacher/education specialist. She loves going to work every day to see her keiki grow and is excited to see what amazing events will happen that day. Jenalyn is also the reigning Narcissus Queen. When she is not working, studying or performing her responsibilities as the Narcissus Queen, she enjoys spending time with her animals, rescuing animals, hiking, finding great food, working out, and learning new skills.

Gina Maeda

Born and raised in Pearl City, Hawaii, Gina Maeda is a proud Pearl City High School alum who went on to graduate with a PharmD from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. After working as a pharmacist for Kaiser Permanente Hawaii for almost 9 years, it was time for a career change and Gina joined the MDX Hawaii team as a quality program analyst. Today, she is a practice performance manager with UnitedHealthcare and credits her time as a Jaycee as the source of the skills and confidence that drove her to pursue a new path.

Gina has been a member of the Honolulu Japanese Junior Chamber of Commerce since 2010, serving in various Board of Directors positions, including 67th Cherry Blossom Festival General Chair. She also enjoys volunteering with non-profit Sakura Hawaii Alumnae, Okinawan club Shinka, and coordinating press and media relations for local conventions Kawaii Kon and Comic Con Honolulu. Earlier in 2021, she also joined the Filipino Jaycees of Honolulu and the Japan-America Society of Hawaii NexGen committee. Most recently, she was nominated as Vice Chair for the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce’s KAIKA Committee (formerly known as the Women’s Diversity Initiative).

In 2022, Gina looks forward to serving the remainder of her term as state president for JCI Hawaii and continuing to connect and develop the members of Hawaii.

Tim Hosoda

Mr. Tim Hosoda is happily married and the father of three wonderful sons. He's been an educator for the past 19 years with the Department of Education. In his spare time, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, working out, and watching sports. Although he eats healthy most of the time, he can never pass up a homemade cookie!


Dr. Jenny Liu

Dr. Jenny Liu was born and raised in Honolulu, and she completed her medical training in her home state. She is happy to be working at Queen Emma Clinic as a Pediatrician caring for our Keiki. She enjoys helping families be as healthy as they can be!
